Why do people accuse gays of using their sexuality to define themselves, when that's the very thing they use to discriminate against us?

EXCELLENT observation. Its just the easiest & lamest excuse heterosexuals can come up with without taking the time to THINK that they are actually contradicting themselves in a very obvious and unintelligent way.

People get so obsessed with something and its all they can focus on.
I met someone new and I know most of the time the only thing they take away is that Im gay....not that im a 6'2 woman or that im funny or cool- just that im a lesbian.
I would say the less experience someone has with a certain thing, the more they would focus on it- especially when its demonized like homosexuality is.

Because people fear what they don't understand, and most people are ignorant fools and think that sexuality does define a person. I was taught that a person is defined by their actions not whom they choose to love or are attracted too.
And for all those religious nuts out there who judge people by their sexuality, "Judge lest ye be judged"...

Because people can have close intimate relationships with all people on earth HOWEVER when you engage in a sexual act the only one that is recognized is male to female...
If there were no sex involved you would not be defined as Homosexual... Unless you just wanted to label yourself with a name.

great question!! people do not take a minute to really look into something! they make assumptions and go with that! they really need to get educated!! gay classes should be mandatory for ignorant people!!

yeah i know people don;t choose to be gay ya no otherwise you wouldn't be i mean you could pretend to be gay or pretend to be straight but you could never actually hide what feeling you had.
