There is no such device yet. The cause(s) of homosexuality are unknown at this time, so it would be impossible to construct such a device. There have been several attempts to find a "gay gene," although none has been found.

However, there is some speculation amongst scientists that a major influencing factor in homosexuality is the chemical environment inside the womb, i.e. higher levels of certain hormones may increase the likelihood of homosexuality. So if this is true, some sort of "anti-gay" treatment could be plausible (I shall not discuss the morality of that, as that is beyond the scope of this question).

So it is possible that someone might have heard information similar to this and accidentally started a rumor. Or more likely, it is a joke.

Sounds like someone was pulling your leg. No one really knows exactly what causes homosexuality, so no one can really make a drug to cure it (although someone may have experimented with different drugs in the fifties).

Most types of anti-gay therapy consists of individual and group counseling, which is based on the assumption that gay sexual orientation is based on socialization, or early childhood trauma.
