The attraction can be intense. There are two "versions" of the attraction available. The attraction uses a spinning centrifuge to simulate a space launch and space travel. If you suffer from motion sickness, do not go on the "original version", The newer or second version eliminates the spinning centrifuge portion of the attraction. A cast member will be there to assist and direct you.
The attraction simulates a launch of a spacecraft. You will feel a increase of G forces. When the launch is completed, you will feel a simulated "weightlessness of space". Actually, you are no longer pinned to your seat due to the spinning but the change creates the sensation of being weightless for a moment. Then you have a "crash" landing and manage to safely complete your mission. If you are claustrophic, do not go on the attraction. The "control panel" pivots towards you and is very close to your body. You are in tight quarters.
Your eyes see a video screen. Your eyes see a "stationary" object. However, you are spinning in a centrifuge, so your inner ear detects motion. This conflict can create motion sickness to those who are prone to motion sickness.
Is it fun? - yes. It is a very unique attraction. Is it good? -yes, it is very good at what it attempts to simulate. Is it scary? - the first time I was hesitant that I would suffer sickness from the attraction. I was concerned during the "launch sequence". Once I broke free from "gravity" and the craft entered outerspace I was fine. Is it fun? - yes. There is no other attraction that gives you the experience that mission space does.
I have since ridden the attraction many times. It is not an attraction for everybody. I have talked to friends who felt "queasy" for the rest of the day. Others people have loved it and couldn't understand why people had diffuculty with the attraction.
Lastly, there are motion "sickness bags" readily available for the guests to use just in case.

If you don't like the G-Force type of rides (the spinning rides at fairs where you feel glued to the ride) then you definitely would not like Mission Space because that is really all it is. Same goes if you get motion sickness extremely easily.
Personally though I love the ride, the take off is my favorite part of the whole ride and probably the most intense too, I "try" to lift my arms and legs up and they feel like jello it's great. I also rode it when they had the cast member preview, before they calmed the ride down and thought it was great then, but too many people were complaining about nausea (most were elders).
If you're not sure, if this ride is you but want to experience it try the Green team. You still feel movement but not the G-Force part of the ride. It is a lot less tame then the Orange team but the line is shorter.

My first experience with this attraction was June of 2006. I was worried because I had heard rumors about it bothering people with even slight claustorphobia. So I decided to try the green team less intense training instead of the regular ride. I did fine and really enjoyed the attraction! I didn't return to give the regular ride a try, but figured I could do it on my next visit.

My kids and I hated that ride. I thought I was gonna die!!! It felt like my head was going to explode. My kids felt the same thing. We were sick to our stomachs when we got off the ride. I heard at least 3 people died on that ride and I can believe it. I just came back from a Disney vacation and wait for that ride was only 20 minutes. When we got on the ride in 2005 you had to get a fast pass. I'm not the only one who didn't like this ride. A couple of my friends felt the same way.

I rode it even though I was a little hesitant. I absolutely love roller coasters and other thrill rides so I just had to ride this one. I did not think it was that bad. It was pretty exciting actually. The only thing I did not like was the major CLAUSTROBIA goin on in that little capsule lol. Other than that, it was fine.
There are 2 versions of the ride too: intense and less intense. I can only speak for the intense one because that is the only one i rode.

I haven't actually ridden it, but I've heard in the last two years about 140 guests who have ridden it have had to be taken to the hospital. They have two versions of the ride, Intense and Less Intense. I would definitely go for Less Intense if I were you.

I have never riden it, but based on my sister's recommendation and what I have witnessed with people getting off the ride, I will be avoiding it once again when I take the family in early April.

I thought the ride is great. Been on it many times.
Something you cannot see, pushes you down in to your seat, including your arms down if you try to hold them up.
Weird, but exciting.
