1991 with a Ultra car starter... not sure if its the remote starter or not. It starts when it wants. The problem is when it is shut off it won't start back up. If you wait a hour or so, then it will start (most of the time) Im just looking for a starting point to solve the problem. Thanks for any help

I had this problem with a Saturn. The valve cover was bad, and when you started it on the first try, it would run fine. If you shut it off, you would have to wait an hour for it to start again.

The problem was that the valve cover was no longer keeping the oil from being dumped all over the plugs. This would cause them to not fire. Then I would have to wait until the engine cooled, and the oil receded from the plugs again to start my car.

This could be your problem, but I hope not since it is fairly costly to replace the valve cover. Mine would have costed me 400 dollars just for the part (brand new).

It is very unlikely that the problem is the remote starter.
