I have a copy of my old one but it as my maiden name on it and I lost the one with my married name on it. I need a copy of the newer one since I didn't change my name after I was divorced

go to your local social security office with marriage certificate & divorce papers, they will need at least one of these. you can get another one sent to you with the forms they provide.

go to the social security office with the old one. no big deal. they'll ask you all these security questions, where you born, mothers maiden name etc... and issue you a knew one. i'd bring your marriage license or something with your married name on it.

Take your old with you to the Social Security office and explain you lost your new one they'll look it up and issue you a new one with you right name on it. No problem.

Cheri, this is what you need. You need a document with your married name, such as your marriage certificate or divorce decree. If you want to go back to using your maiden name, you will need both of those documents. Hope this helps.
