Personally i think if models are skinny and healthy they should'nt be kicked off but i also feel that the ideal size should'nt be an unrealistic size 0 how about a more familiar size 7 or 5? what do u think?

I think that you should be appreciated for any body type that you do have, but shouldn't try to fit into the whole model stereotype. personally I think that curvy is pretty.

I am a teenager and 5'10" and was a model before. I currently weigh 118 and am CONSTANTLY trying to gain weight. I think that if models are in my situation, then that it okay. i wear a size 0-3, but am not anorexic or bulimic. I was watching a show one time and it said something about models belching after eating one m&m. Some are like that, but if you are like me, and have eating competitions, but still stay small then that is terrific!! Another thing is for all of you girls out there who are size 3-7, you guys are perfect! If you think you rflaws are bad, random people will stop me inthe store and comment about how i look. And girls that i know think my body's public property, becuase they are always feeling my wrists, waists, and commenting about my size. It is so demeaning to me! If you don't get this kind of attention hen you are blessed, and it shows you that you are a perfect size. You don't know how often i've wanted to trade with my friends who are a size 5 or 7.

That is the requirement in the modeling industry, just like there are requirements in other industries (college education, technical skills, etc). There are many women who are naturally very thin and not unhealthy at all. The problem with it is that women (or girls) who AREN'T naturally thin, will starve themselves to fit the mold. And, since that is the case...the modeling industry should automatically weed those girls out rather than hire them and then tell them to lose 10 pounds because that's when the eating disorders develop.

As for why they are required to be so thin... modeling is all about showcasing the clothes. The models are basically moving hangers, and I don't mean that in a bad way....it's just that the material "moves" better and the lines of the pieces are displayed more accurately on thinner models.

I don't think that it is attractive. I'm sure a bunch of those girls are unhealthy because they are underweight depending on their BMI. It's a double standard to criticize fat people because they are not in a healthy weight range but not them. It's sick how we judge people so much on fat or skinny. We need to start looking at each other as human beings. The whole fashion scene is fake anyway. Some of what these so called designers produce is horrible. I wouldn't pay $1000 for a dress that looks like someone just took a bunch of cloth and stapled it randomly together. I laugh when I look at fashion mags.

Being a size 0 is realistic because I am a size 0. it is more common than you think, and doesn't mean you are not healthy.

I personally don't like seeing super skinny celebrities in magazines and on TV and stuff. It's just not good to be so skinny or so overweight that it affects your health. I believe that as long as your happy with who you are, you're okay! =]

Models these days look anorexic! YUCK! You can be naturally thin, no doubt, but runway models look starved and that's a horrible message to send out.

I'm a 5

i agree...i see so many celebrities...and they really small breast..some...and they droop cuz they have no weight...and they wear these dresses that show alot of skin the back..thats not bad...but when u look at them from the back u can practically see there spine..and then on the magazine they are voted for best dressed! wow...*sarcasm* but i think it looks quite ugly...i think girls look much better with some meat on her bones.
