I currently have a 3.25 GPA with 6 AP classes under my belt.

I averaged a 3.0/5.0 on the AP examines.

I got a 161 on the PSAT as a sophomore, and got a 178 as a junior.

And my highest score on the ACT was a 27.

What is the best college I could possibly go to given my stats? Ignore volunteering, participation, etc. Just strictly looking at my stats, what do you guys think is the best college I could get into??

The best place you can hope for is Tulane, or a university of similar quality to Tulane. I go to McGill University in Canada. It is a really good school (number 21 in the world according to the London Times yearly rankings), and you should be able to get into their with such grades too. Other places that come to mind are University of Washington, Seattle and (perhaps this is a bit of a reach) Boston College. What I would recommend is going to www.collegeboard.com and looking at the universities that you are considering applying to. They list down the average SAT and ACT scores (and sometimes the GPAs too) of applicants for every university in the nation and this does give you a fair idea of whether you have a chance of getting in. I know it is sad, but colleges really do heavily consider test scores (even though, frankly, they don't mean jack). Hence, I was turned down from all the Ivies despite having a 4.00 GPA thourghout all of highschool-- I only had a 30 on the ACT and a 2100 on the SAT. Extra-curriculars really are important though, so if you have those down, it really boosts your chances. Finally, make sure you write a damn good college essay because that can be the deciding factor when it comes to getting into your first-choice school. Just don't aim too high when applying to colleges or else you will be bitterly disappointed when the rejection letters come flying through the mail (as I was). Please consider McGill! (trust me, we outwork Harvard students, and we don't have our grades inflated either-- it's pretty damn challenging!)

Arizona-specific Davis-according to risk Irvine-according to risk Santa Barbara-according to risk yet leaning greater in direction of in all probability not Santa Cruz-in all probability (they take like every physique) Cal Poly-maaaaybe...it relies upon on what important you prepare for. in addition they somewhat care approximately extracurriculars. San Fransisco-i don't be responsive to. don't be responsive to lots with regard to the college. yet simply by fact it somewhat is a Cal State, i'm guessing you in all probability could desire to get in.

There is a good program on college board.com that will give you a very good idea about which colleges would be matches, reaches, and safeties. Now was it college board or Princeton review...oh well, you could always check both. Oh, and its free.
