My husband smoked pot a few days ago when we were hanging out with some friends. Its been the only time he has done it in years, and I've never done it. He has an interview in a few days and now I'm stressing! They are going to take a drug test. How often can it show up in your system? Is there a way to get it flushed out faster? Help!? Please, I know this is horrible, but it was just a one-time thing.

One session stays in your system for about a week. Habitual use of pot will have THC in your system for about a month. Your husband is not a habitual smoker, so it will only be in there for about a week, give or take a few days depending on his metabolism. If you are worried that this is not enough time, give him Vitamin B complex pills to speed up his metabolism, and have him eating foods with lot's of vitamin B. Stay away from fatty junk foods, THC sticks to fat cells (this is why metabolism is the important factor). Drink lot's of Cranberry juice (has lot's of anti-oxidants), lot's of water, and eat a lot of prunes. Make sure he takes a lot of... You know... Bathroom breaks (the prunes will help that along).... And also make sure he urinates a lot. This will get it out of his system faster.
I am more than certain, that given the amount of time from his smoke session to his drug test, he will pass the test without doing anything. But if you are worried, then I suggest you take my advice above. The key thing to understand is that THC sticks to fat cells, so metabolism is the most important factor. I hope everything works out for your husband, and I'm sure they will.

The active ingredient of pot, is called THC. It is stored in the fat cells. If he was a regular smoker, then I would say it would take any where from 4 to 6 weeks for him to be clear. If he only did a couple of puffs a couple of days ago, then it may not show up at all, and be gone from his system by the time the drug screen takes place. There is NOTHING that will mask the metabolite of THC in urine....this is exactly what they check for. Golden Seal Root, drinking tons of water, sweating profusely, NOTHING. Maybe in the early 1980s that would have worked...but technology has changed many times since then. I wanted to let you know. I've taken my share of drug screens over the years, and have given my share too. I hope everything comes out ok. Best of luck to you, and him.

Everyday drink 1/4 Malt vinegar- It's screws up your ability to test proper reading. (Commercial drivers will do this to prevent having license pulled away).
Also can buy some stuff at a herb store.
(I forget the name of it)
PS. You do know if he is on any kind of medication. this can also give false readings. Just so you know Malt vinegar is very good for you too.

just drink a lot of water for the next day or two, like 2-3 gallons a day and he will be clean as a whistle. Me and my bro have to do it all the time.
