the chicken

It depends on what you believe in. If you are a creationist, you would say God created the chicken, which had an egg and so on. If you believe in evolution, you would say the chicken evolved from something simpler, like a reptile of some sort. So, i guess either way, the chicken came first.

Without the chicken there would be no egg, so obviously the chicken because chickens produce the egg!!

The egg. While God may have created the chicked first, he made the egg first.

There is a difference between "made" and "create." If you read the Bible you will see God 'created man and woman" at the same time. But they were "made" at two different times.

Here, God created the chicked in his thoughts, but made the egg to bring forth the chicken. Same as God caused the trees to grow---from what---seed. Same as the chicken grew from the egg.

The chicken, because since I am religious, I am looking back to the reference of God creating all birds and sea creatures on the fifth day. God said ""Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." (Genesis 1:20-23). He didn't however say, let the egges increase on the earth. I believe it was the chicken that came first. There was never a day when God made the eggs.

There have been eggs far longer than there have
been chickens.

Modern evolutionary theory shows birds descending
from reptiles which also lay eggs.

The first thing that had the chicken genome
was an egg that came from something that
did not have the chicken genome.

Therefore, the egg.
