It sounds like you find yourself saying "yes" to requests from people when you really want to say "no." You probably do it because you have gotten used to thinking more about others than about yourself and your own needs. A person can get used to doing this while they are young and then it becomes very difficult to break the habit. However, it is great that you do realize that you have a problem. I would recommend that you tell yourself everyday that your needs are important too. Then, when people ask for something and you find yourself unable to say "no", you should just say that you will get back to them later to let them know your answer. That will give you time to really think about what you want to answer and to build up your courage. Remember, you don't have to come up with a big excuse. It is ok to just say that the answer is "no" because you cannot help out this time. I am sure that once you get used to doing it you will find it easier and easier to be honest with the people in your life. People that really care about you will be able to understand once they get used to the big change. Good-luck and I hope this helps.

That's a common problem. Most people do it because they don't want to "injure" someone else. But once you find out NOT saying no is more trouble than it's worth, and you finally get sick and tired of it, you'll learn to conjure up a "no" when it's called for....and you'll be better off for it. No is not an attack on another person...it's just simply what it says, it's just a "no". They won't die if you say it....and neither will you.

Well, if you are having a hard time saying no, just in general to everything, then you need to learn to stand up for yourself. Does it really matter what other people think about you? Do they pay your bills? No...so take care of yourself and stop worrying about what the hell other people think about you. You are who you are, and that is all that matters.

Your a people pleaser. You probally feel people will get upset with you or not like you anymore if you do say no. Your going to have to put your foot down sooner or later because your just letting everyone walk all over you.

Because you are a kind person and don't like to let people down. However when I was younger I would say yes to people because I feared rejection if I said no.
