If the Government is supposed to be accountable to the people, couldn't we have them hold most of their meetings in a public forum? I undertstand we'd still need secret meetings like for talking about where our troops are placed etc. Also for the media. I would like to be able to check out their meetings as well.

Sorry, meant to say phone taps. Anyway, more realistically, just lines anyone can listen to. They got enough security with their red phone etc.

its called the Freedom Of Information Act, it'll get you any info that they can legally give you

It's already happening...it's called CSPAN. You can watch the empty congressional floor anytime during the day. And if government is held accoutable, then the age old argument must be answered....do politicans have a right to personal lives?

NO!!!! We have all ready a good way to monitor the activities of our government -- its called the Congressional Record.

Dont you think voting may be a more effective way of dealing with bad politicians. Thay are on c-span all day, why dont you watch them for us?
