One word: Insecurity.
In other words, jealous people are people who have not accepted themselves, assets and faults, and don't think they are worthy regardless of those faults.

Fear and Love are spirits! From these two spirits...all other emotions and feelings originate. Jealousy is always, always, based on fear. Fear of losing someone or something, or of not obtaining someone or something.
People become jealous(fearful) because fear is of the flesh, and the flesh is weak. We must be filled with the Holy Spirit to decrease jealousy in our lives.
When you see someone always fighting for control, power, recognition, or jealous of what others have...they are deeply rooted in the flesh and filled with fear. This will eventually open the doorway for Satan which leads to other sins such as deceit, lies, manipulation, arrogance, etc.
John 4:24a God is spirit
1 John 4:8b God is love.
2 Timothy 1:7 God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Blessings, Miji

Jealousy is such a negative emotion, I simply hate it. But it is very strong.....I get jealous of someone's knowledge for the time being then i have to fight back and make this emotion positive by assuring me that i m admiring that person instead of getting jealouse.....and Thanx God this works ! thats why i hardly let this feeling overcome me and even if does, i get rid of it within second or sometimes within minutes ! as it can be beaten !

I get jealous of people who can talk in front of an audiance. I have bad stage fright. So I envy people who can do that.

I'm jealous of no one.
Others, however, are jealous of me.
