unique spellings can sometimes be annoying, for the person who has to correct everyone else's spelling of their name for the rest of their lives. my name is not unique, but the spelling is, and it was near impossible for me to find personalized items as kid. then, as an adult, i have had to correct the spelling of my name on so many documents, emails, legal paperwork, tax returns, etc... i really wish i had a more traditional spelling.
