Just looking at it, I would assume it is a girl, especially if it supposed to be pronounced "tay-huh" or "tay-hay". Pronouncing it, I should think it sounded like "taw-haw" which sounds to me like karate sounds.
I guess it is a male Arabic name meaning "one" or "o man". In Turkish it means "sun ray". To the Waitaha nation (from New Zealand) it means "gourd" (wai means water, taha means gourd).
A recent famous Taha was the Vice President of Iraq who was sentenced to life + 24 years for various crimes.

I am afraid I agree with the general consensus that this is not a very boyish sounding name. It sound more like the words used at the end of a performance or a goofy laugh.
Try the name Tyha and then he can go by the name Ty while in grade school until he is old enough to appreciate the special name you have chosen for him and can overcome the harassment of the other kids.

I think I would pronounce it: Tie-ha. I think it may seem a bit feminine because it ends in an "a"; but because I've never heard of it, I wouldn't presume. To keep with the same sound, I would go with Tai (pronounced Tie). It sounds like you want to pick a name that is ethnic so don't americanize it..stay true to the root of what you are going for.

How does this sound to you? Different
How do you pronounce it? Tay-ha
Can you tell it is the name of a male? I really don't know. It seems like a unisex name. But it does remind me of Tasha.
If not, can you please suggest an alternate spelling that seems more masculine? Tayha

Here are a few similar Arabic name ideas
Tahir - Pure, clean, modest
Talha - Kind of tree
Tahsin - Beautification
Tawhid - Believing in one God
Arabic names are some of the most beautiful and powerful names in the world. I'm not Arabic, but I have an Arabic name, and have always loved having a unique name. My daughter's name is also Arabic. Congratulations on your bundle of joy, and good luck.

I would pronounce it either Ta like ta ta for now and Ha like I am laughing or Tay Ha. I would not assume it to be male or female, but maybe that is because I am not familiar with Arabic names. Many people may not be familiar with these names creating a cultural gap in understanding it. If it is important to you and your family then I think you should go for it, regardless of what we think, since most of us do not understand.

Well, in the end it's up to you but it's better than naming him Taho.. Taha is a very unique name and he will be the only person with that name... besides there are some guys who are named ashly, alli, tracey, staci, toni, now those names are are definately not masculine... so I say go for it..

Taha طه (Ṭāhā) is a male Arabic given name that is another name for the Prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him).
a lot of people don't like names that are foreign so sometimes it's not a good idea to ask them. I'm naming my daughter a Filipino name, my mom is Filipino. my boyfriend family don't like it, among with others. the only ones who really do are my Filipino family members.
