Or is Gore just being incredibly hesitant -- you know, once bitten twice shy?

I think he is doing a great job with his global warming seminars. If you haven't seen "an inconvenient truth", you should. After what he went through in that election, which I am of the opinion he actually won, he may have found that he is doing more good outside of the presidential circus. Who knows.

I Agree - As a chip off the ol' Chippendale, i pick Owl Gore to run for President. Owl Gore (Inventor of the internet and worldwide Warming, has plenty extra warm stay chat and B.S. to grant than Hillary Care, uninteresting Rock Obama and Danny Glover/Edwards.

Running for President is extremely difficult. You open yourself and your family up to the criticism of everyone on Earth, and people are as mean as they can find a way to be about finding anything to criticize.

Speaking of the Clintons, if anyone said the things about my kids they said about Chelsea when her Dad was in the White House, I'd do whatever it took to get them out of that situation. (That was the lowest of the low- talking about a teenaged girl's appearance in derogatory ways just because her Dad was President... but people forget they are human once someone's famous.) My main responsibility is to my family. I suspect many politicians get to that point, too... especially those with any decency at all.

I wouldn't be interested in putting my family through it, personally. I suspect that knowing what it's like he's happier doing work trying to protect the environment... very, very important work, I might add.

Gore still might run. He used to be seen as boring and "unpresidential" - whatever that means. But he seems to be gaining in popularity, especially after winning an Oscar. I give it by the end of the month and I bet he'll announce his candidacy.

I'm sure he feels no loyalty to the Clintons or any one else. He probably doesn't think he can win & is enjoying what he is doing now.

It's too early for him to commit to anything. He has time to wait for the last moment to enter the race for President because everyone knows who he is & he's got a lot of money. he'll let Hilary and Obama kick the crap out of each other first & then he'll just sneak in at the last moment to steal the show.

If it weren't for the Clinton/Lewinsky mess, he would have been president, so I don't think he has any loyalty to the Clintons. He is probably not running again because he doesn't want to be a two-time loser.

I think that he has better ways to influence American people than through presidency. As a president he could end up being hated, this way he wins.

Gore is not running because he knows he cannot win. His time has come and gone. He is much more productive in his current role. Tipper also gives many people cause for concern because of her involvement in a book burning. That did not set well with people.

If you didn't notice after the 2000 elections, Al Gore got a reputation for being a bit of a joke.

If he runs again, he has to make sure there is plenty of distance between him and the image he gained after those elections.
