No, I'm more afraid of an aneurysm in the brain or something sudden like that.
Not that a heart attack would be expected... but at least your day would be over!
Tell the people you care about how you feel often...

You don't have to be sleeping to have a heart attack, as a matter of fact the majority of heart attacks happen when people first wake up in the morning. You shouldn't fear anything all the time or you will be unnecessarily crippling yourself because you have no control over what life has in store for you including death.

People do not die of heart attacks without a precipitating factor. Heart defect not diagnosed. Some get buildup of plaque sooner than others. I have know people who were embarrassed to go to the hospital and died in bed. My grandma and mother are two more. I suppose it can be said, dying in your sleep is the very best. Personally I'm not looking forward to waking up to a dead husband. Creepy.

if this is keeping you from sleeping well then it sounds like you may have some mild anxiety. i've felt this way before during and immediately after a panic attack. talk to your doctor about ways to help you deal with your anxiety. he may prescribe you a very mild sedative (xanax) to help you manage your stress when/if it gets severe.
i do have to say i was feeling this way the other night (goofy, i know), but when i woke up i reflected on the "luck" of actually waking up...but then mused that had i not i wouldn't have really been too upset over it. slipping out in my sleep is definitely my top choice for ways to step on a rainbow.

I'm really interested in this question. I found the question online when I was trying to research a similar problem for a man I work with. He has Parkinsons Disease, and is afraid to go to sleep for fear of not waking up. One of the symptoms of Parkinsons is a kind of dementia later in the course of the disease, and the only other reference I've found is from a woman whose mother has stage 2 dementia.

No, death is nothing to be afraid off, it will happen at one time or another and there's absolutely nothing you can do about.
Worrying about it is useless, stressful and wastes too much energy you could put to much better use. The main thing is to live healthy, no drugs, alcohol in moderation and exercise and basically enjoy every day. Never hate someone, hate destroys the soul, you can extremely dislike someone but never ever hate. Be nice to others, honest and sincere and you will live life to the fullest.

No - the body has a system that will wake you up, if you're in trouble, weather it is a heart problem, or a diabetic problem. The down side is that you may not be physically able to help yourself.

i am not afraid of dieing in my sleep it just means that i don't have to deal with life anymore, but death is probably longer than life, but dieing in your sleep is probably more peace full than dieing other ways.
