not sure if its a notebook or a desktop...
if notebook, you will need to purchase a bigger drive and install, this is not for the novice and will require you to copy ur file that u do not want to loose and install the new drive. scale difficulty (1-10 ~9)

if desktop, its easier for the home user to just ADD another one, set it up as slave drive and you will see it appear as a new drive letter on windows explorer (like d:) scale difficulty (1-10 ~7)

or, you can go to ur local *tech savey store* and tell them that you need more drive space, they will advise you...

I'm not sure how you know that you're almost out of hard drive space, if you don't know how to find out the number of drives in your computer.

If you have a laptop, it's likely you have only one hard drive. However, that drive might be 'partitioned' in which case it would look like two drives (or more) under "My Computer"

Each drive is given a drive letter. The primary drive is usually C: Your CD-Rom or DVD-Rom drive may be D: or E:.

If you want to find out how much space you have, right click on the drive letter under My Computer, and click Properties. That should show your used and free space.

You could try backing up some of your files to DVDs or CDs and deleting the the originals off your hard drive, to free up some space.

My recommendation... if you only have one hard drive (which is likely), and you need more space - Take your computer to a professional to upgrade you to another drive. A clean install of windows would be best, but they'd have to know where all of your files are, that you wish to keep, to copy over. Otherwise they could just copy your current drive in its entirety to a new larger drive.
