what would be some reasons? Is it you or them?

sydney--nope, if they are nice, that's all it takes for me to like them and want to get to know them better. =) I'm not snobby like MOST people who I've encountered.

Well, the biggest reason (I think) is because they don't have anything in common with the potential friend. People tend to want to spend time with those who share their interests and/or values or with someone they find particularly intriguing. Another reason is because they have other priorities/people in their lives and don't want to make time for someone new. But I think people should be willing to give nice people chances. Life is too short to go around trying to find "perfect people" (there are none).

It does not matter. There are at least 6 Billion people on this planet. Who cares if one likes you and one does not? Some people will not want to be your friend, just as you may not want to be friends with some people. Try just being friends with yourself. Once you have found unconditional love for yourself, coupled with kindness, compassion and respect. You will see that it does not matter what anyone thinks or does not think of you...why.. because you have you and that is all that matters... But is it you or them? I think it is both. Some of the reasons you ask.. I say can only be a few things, ill conceived perceptions, unhealthy attachment and insecurity.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM......I am so nice to ppl and some girls in my area are snobby and dont ever just pick up the phone to call me even though they can find out my number. I have called ppl where they dont return my phone calls and I would see them months later and they act like everything is cool. I just moved, and I'm having a hard time making friends. I'm social, 25 yr old trendy girl, and other girls and guys are sooo self absorbed in my city and they dont have time to make friends with me. First I thought it was me for months, and now I hve learned to accept that the only way I can learn to get to know someone is volunteering and feeling better about myself there. when youre volunteering you tend to forget the snobs and make self-less (opposite of selfish) friends there. I'm gradually getting to know ppl. But its really hard when ppl my age dont befriend me even though there is nothing wrong with me other than I didnt grow up in the city I live in.

You can only handle about 2-5 close friends and that many just friends.

We just don't all click with the same people. For people to be friends, there has to be a connection, not everyone gets that.

if you have other friends, then it is their choice not to be your friend. some people just dont 'click' with others, surely you have met people and not felt inclined to become friends with them!
