My husband had LASEK about 6 months ago. His vision was around -5.75 in each eye before the surgery and is about +0.25 in each now. With LASEK they completely removed the flap of skin over the pupil and let the laser correct his lense. He was in quite a bit of pain for the first few days, and very sensitive to light. In the end it was worth it, but I think some of his pain may be contributed to the fact that before the surgery he'd wear his contacts for months before changing them. Probably didn't help his eyes much. Best of luck!
