Quite simple really.
The proposals are a violation of Article 12 of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
This act cannot be overuled by UK or EU legislation. Download a copy from the net, and inform the Chief Executive of your local council that you will sue him personally for violating your human rights.
Send a copy to your local Chief Constable and demand police protection from any such attempt to violate your right to privacy, and enjoment of your property without interference by the state.
Alternatively, log onto nottinghamshiretimes.co.uk they have a link to the online petition demanding the tax inspections are dropped.
They also have another online petition demanding that all those smirking MP's who falsified their expenses are prosecuted.
Why not email the links to everyone you know and get them to do the same? We could have a million signatures within a month.

The only way I can see any changes being made is if enough people voted for a political party which proclaimed that it was against the council tax inspectors and would get rid of them once elected. Town Halls up and down the country are desperate for 'cash', our cash, actually. They know that they're on a thrashing to nothing if they keep putting up council tax as they continually do. We now have a situation where retired gentlefolk are saying they refuse to pay the council tax and will go to court and go to jail of necessary. This is most serious and if politicians at local and governmental level do not take notice of this , they will only have themselves to blame as more and more people turn to the BNP etc for help.
It's happening.
