Christians kill just as many people, don't convert for that reason.

The doors to Christianity are open to everyone. We'll be glad to have you. Be sure you shop around before you settle on one denomination. Check Catholic and mainstream protestant faiths. Stay away from radicals and the off center denominations. Evangelicals should be avoided too. They are over the top unless you are into show and give up money so some televangelist can wear a rolex when all you can afford is a timex.

In this country, it is possible to convert. Since there is no state religion. There are issues you must resolve with the church you plan on joining. They will ask you about your reasons and some counseling may be involved so that you are in the right place to begin with. There are lots of reasons people change religions. The most popular being marriage.

We Christians would be glad to have you.
Your best bet is to find the nearest Church to your home, and go talk to a Priest there. He will help you decide to convert.
I personally am a Catholic, and I think it is a great religion, but you can't really go wrong with any branch of Christianity. They all pretty much have the same set of morals and standards. It's just that Catholicism is the oldest, and I kinda like that.

It sounds like you're basing your choice of religion on political reasons, rather than anything to do with spiritual faith.
That being said, each religion has its own rules for converting to that religion. Christianity is a broad group of related religions, and each has its own specific procedures.
But if you don't care about the formality, just change what you believe, and refer to yourself by whatever label you want.

Yes, it is possible, I was tired of the greed and hypocrisy of the Catholic Church and it's teachings so I converted to Buddhism. If you think Christianity is right for you, just go ahead and convert, but be sure it is what you want. Good Luck

I do not believe that you are a Jew.
But if you are, you owe it to yourself to read "The Mythmaker: Paul and the Invention of Christianity" by Hyam Maccoby to understand Christianity better. In fact, I'd recommend it to everyone.

Many people convert from one religion to another. I was in mass one day and the priest was talking about a friend of his from the middle east who converted to Catholicism, and the day he converted, his family held a funeral for him.

If you feel that is what you want to do, then thats what you feel. Of course most religions will tell you that you are going to hell if you dont believe what they believe.
I am a christian, but consider myself a believer and non-religious. Organized religion has left a bad taste in my mouth.
