arrogant- is that you believe you are right 100% of the time and that you are intouchable and that you are number one, also, that nobody is as good as you
Confident-that you believe in yourself and truly know your abilities.

Confidence is someone who is sure of themselves or their task.
Arrogance is when you tell everyone that you are.
For example, if I go into an interview at McDonalds and say "I am always on time, I've had lots of experience and I know how to keep customers happy. I also know how to count and can run a register and give change with ease." That is CONFIDENT.
If I say "I'm all that and you can't find anyone better than me. I"m the best and you would be lucky to hire me." That's arrogance. Arrogance is ugly. Confidence is reassuring.

People who are arrogant are invariably a royal pain in the ***. It is their way or the highway. They never even accept the POSSIBILITY that they may be wrong on any subject, or in any opinion they might hold (and they hold a lot) on ANYTHING.
Because of this misconception about themselves, they are often patronizing, condescending, superior and treat others as if they were ignorant.
Certain organizations, or religions can have this unpleasant character trait.
On the other hand, if a person is confident, they have a positive and realistic view of who they are, and are able to accept themselves as they are. They don't rely on the approval of others to feel good about themselves.
They may not be confident in every area of their lives; unlike arrogance, they know their limitations in certain circumstances.
So the two types are as different as chalk and cheese!

There was some research done about groups and perceptions of confidence.
The people who were rated by the groups to well-liked and seeming confident on first meeting said the same people were just plain arrogant by the seventh meeting.
So, repeat exposure mihgt be the differnce.

Arrogance is more on a snobbish level than level-headed confidence. Look at Jennifer Hudson for example: she is so sweet, humble, and down-to-earth. So she has a very healthy level of confidence.

Confidence is knowing that you are right. Arrogance is wanting others to know that you are right.

Arrogance is what happens when someones ego takes over his life. He/She would ignore others and would even look down on them. But confidence is when someone knows what he/she can do and he/she has proof to back it up.And he/she is proud of himself instead of being egoistic and ignorant
