I think you need to make your question a lot clearer.

Our bodies operate on a delicate balance......so if anything gets out of whack, we can either get sick or die. I wouldn't worry about the 40 day thing. I've been a paramedic of over 25 years.....see people who died when they shouldn't have, and others who lived when they also shouldn't have. I'm a firm believer that when it's your time to go, then no matter where you are or what you're doing, you'll go. Don't let that stuff bother you. Have a great day.

Ah hah, I suspect this questioner may be a muslim or orthodox jew. These faiths (and maybe some others, I dunno) have a forty day period after childbirth in which a woman is "impure" and must refrain from sex and certain other activities.
If this is the case, questioner, you should talk to your rabbi or imam, as different sects have different opinions about this. But generally, dying while you are impure does not have a negative impact on the state of your soul.
But if you're having thoughts about death, maybe due to post-partum depression... seek help *now*, before it gets worse.

Are you asking about dying or dieting?
If you're worried about dying, see a doctor please! There are some possible complications after pregancy.
If you want to diet, and you're nursing your child, you probably should reconsider.
If you want to diet and are bottle feeding the child, then a normal, balanced diet, with just a little calorie restriction if you wish, will help you get back to your goal weight. I've linked to a website with more advice below.

I shouldn't think you'll have time to die if you have a newborn.. Enjoy these precious moments with your Baby. Baby will be at School before you know it.

What do you mean by 40 days? After you have your baby, you will be looked after by your mid wife who will be able to help you with any health problems. Speak to her about any concerns you have now, as your stress will be picked up by your unborn child.

'Forty days' sounds like some sort of Bible thing.
Anyone can die at any time. If you are worried, ask your doctor.

You can die anytime, but I don't understand what you mean exactly, add to the question or repost it with more details.
