I looked at my nearest humane societie's website and emailed them, all they keep are cats and dogs. Also, I am interning at the nearest vet and they also do not have any rabbits.
:(
Thanks for the help so far though.

Whatever you do Don't BUY from a PET shop! They sell sick rabbits, and the habitats are horrible.
I suggest a breeder who specializes in the type of rabbit you want OR a Rescue would be even better. Most of the time you will be able to bond with the rabbit before adopting so you will know if you will like it and be able to care for it enough.
Good Luck! <3

Your best bet is to adopt a bunny as they will often be able to tell you something about the rabbit's personality. You can search on rabbits by going to www.petfinder.com and typing in your zip code.
You are better not buying from a pet store - many sell rabbits that are too young and you'll have problems. You also perpetuate the over breeding of rabbits. Same with breeders - adopt don't buy!

I am a small rabbit breeder, please be very careful rabbits are very strange at times
1 find a small (hobbyist) breeder most have websites
I highly reccomend a holland lop they are great
they should only cost around $30 with pedigree
make sure to check the teeth make sure they are straight check the ears for mites they look like coffee grounds
and the private areas make sure they are clean and no signs of dierriah.. dont feel weird doing this all breeders are use to it.. there are tons of websites for hollands google it good luck and if need be you can email me
**** do not buy from a petstore and most rabbits end up in rescues because they have issues***

There is a place on Hwy 64 (in Burke) that sells bunnies and ducks.
I bought mine at the Flea Markets one in Morganton, and the other in the small Flea Market off I-40 Exit 111 or 112.
Good Luck...
Buy An IWANNA paper, they have lots of pets up for sale or giveaway.

First choice- adoption or humane society
second choice- a credible pet shop, i got my rabbit at a small pet shop and my bunny is the nicest thing ever. He is also in perfectly good health and the people there were extremely nice. Another reason to buy from a pet shop is sometimes they get in rabbits, and if they don't sell thme in time, and if the rabbits reach a certain age, they are killed. I bout a year old rabbit and basically saved his life.
NEVER BUY FROM PETCO or PETSMART! They are inhumane, hurt the rabbits, don't care about what's best for the rabbit, just profits. Pet shops are okay if you check them out and talk around and see how good their animals are.

I would say to go to a humane society, shelter or rescue shelters for rabbits. It would be well worth it to adopt one from any of these places too. You will be saving a life! Good luck, hope this helps!

go to www.arba.net. (American Rabbit Breeders Association). They could probably tell you where rabbits are for sale in your area.
