we shouldn't hav entered. we had no right and no reason. If we really did, we would see improvement among the troops. Instead it is only getting worse and more innocent people die everyday. If we don't get out now this will result in anther World War or worse, a nuclear war. Personally, I think we should have payed more attention to Osama Bin Laden instead of Saddam Hussein who apparently had no weapons of mass destruction like Bush claimed he had. Osama was the terrorist in charge of 9/11 and not Saddam. But what is done is done. Yet we really should get out of there and focus on better issues like our economy, other nation threats like Korea, and to prevent other attacks like 9/11.There is no point for a war in Iraq.

That's a pretty open ended question, but I'll try to answer anyway.
First, I think that we had a legitimate reason to be there. Even if you leave aside the WMD argument for a moment, Saddam Hussein was in clear violation of the terms of peace that were enacted at the end of the Gulf War. He was supposed to allow UN weapons inspectors free access to inspect within his country. He did not do so. If they were allowed access at all, they certainly were not allowed to freely conduct their searches. That's why the UN had imposed so many sanctions on Iraq.
Of course, this had been going on for 10 years and, obviously, the UN and their sanctions were not getting the job done. The weapons inspectors still did not have access to do the inspections they were supposed to do to ensure that Hussein wasn't manufacturing and stock-piling WMD's. Which, brings us back to the idea of WMD's. I know that many people are all up in arms about that, saying that there weren't any, but truthfully, we know he had them. How do we know? Because we saw the horrible effects the nerve gasses had when he used them on his own people before the Gulf War. 5,000 Kurds were killed in the Iraq town of Halabja.
That, coupled with the fact that he wasn't allowing free access to his weapons program as he was supposed to...well, suddenly he's looking like a man with a lot to hide. He's also a man, don't forget, that has proven he has no problem at all invading neighboring countries either.
So, honestly, I think that some action needed to be taken. I know that's not the popular opinion but we also need to remember that there were people who thought that no action should be taken against Hitler. Just look what happened when that guy was left to run unchecked.
Having said all that, I think war is a nasty business and, having a brother who is actively serving in the military, I'd like to see it end as soon as possible.

I think its a major waste of time. Our presence over there is no longer wanted. We should withdraw from Iraq and just let U.S. troops return to their families. I'm sick of seeing so many of our men and women die in a war that certainly doesn't make sense. It frustrates me to know that there are thousands of children in America who don't get to see their parents every day because they're serving overseas. Bush doesn't think about how this war effects children or soldiers' wives. He doesn't care about our troops. He couldn't care even if someone paid him to. This war is pointless and nothing but a pack of lies that Bush invented himself. I really hope that the next president is someone I can trust, because I don't know if I can trust the White House anymore.

I am a military wife, and my husband is getting ready to leave again for Iraq. At this point, there is not much to think about but getting our soldiers safely there and back. They serve their country; do what needs to be done according to what our government says must be done.
I think what has been started needs to be finished. I pray it will be done sooner, than later.
