A green lane is a road that is still under classification somewhere as a public right of way for motor vehicles but is largely unused. Great for off roading your old jeep on, there used to be the green lane association (glass) but I dont know if they are still on the go.

A green way/green lane is an unpaved road, it's in the name.

You can drive a car down it, but remember, it is still a public highway and is governed by all the associated laws (including ones about damaging the surface).

Watch out for pedestrians, cyclists, and horses; they probably won't be expecting to see a car around.
