dude, you don't have to dance with anybody to enjoy it. I think people who HAVE to have a dance partner are insecure and need something to cling on. Go for it man! People who go to dance classes dance by themselves all the time. you are probably getting the looks because they don't have the balls to go out themselves. sooner or later, people will want to go up to you.

Dancing by yourself is needed, for practice, but in a social situation, if the ladies are turning you down, something is seriously wrong. It's possible the problem is with you, of course, and you might want to do a little soul-searching to make sure you're not being overbearing or overleading, but I suspect you're just in the wrong crowd. If most of the ladies are only dancing with their husbands/boyfriends, then they're being rude (or their boyfriends are all SOB's), and you need to find a better crowd. I expect my date and I will dance with each other no more than every third dance, and it's a lot more fun that way.

I don't see anything wrong with dancing by yourself. If no one wants to enjoy dancing with you-fine. Their loss, your gain. Strange looks? Probably 'cause no one else was "brave" enough to feel free enough to do that themselves! As a little girl, my parents and I were at a friends house, she was a ballet teacher. She saw me dancing, and told me that "dancing is moving the way you feel to the beat of the music." However, these days, I would not want to get too risque in my dancing if I were you-out dancing alone. Have fun!

Just went to an REO SpeedWagon concert and yes
we saw a guy dance up in front of the stage by himself dancing for 15 min. After that the women braved the stage and he initialized his own groupie fun,,impressive and confident in his own element .I'm sure he had a great time

You go for it and do not feel self-conscience. There is nothing wrong with dancing alone. If you are really liking to do this and if you never have had training you may want to find a good dance school somewhere as well . If it is in you then you may as well take it to the top.

yes, it's okay to dance by yourself! Dance IS an art and if you feel good about yourself, then by all means, DANCE! Just think of the strange looks as those people, they wish they were as brave as you, to get out on the floor, and dance like nobody is watching. I personally, unfortunately, am one of those people who are afraid to get out there by myself. So dance for me. You're my hero.

You never know, some cute gal may come up and join you! When I would go to dances when we were younger, we'd just dance in one big group, no partners. Until the slow dances came on, of course. Now, if you're slow dancing alone, you may deserve the funny looks. LOL Just kidding. :)

Dont care what other people say. I would love to see a guy whos confident enough to dance alone. People who give you strange looks might not be people you want to associate with.

If you think it's fun and felt good then why ask for our approval. It's not harming or offending anyone when you dance by yourself. Of course it's OK.

No, I think it is a great idea. Enjoy life; it is too short to sit on the sidelines and wait for fun. GOOD FOR YOU!
...as long as you don't slow dance with yourself ...LOL.
