If the Lions draft him, then yes. If not, then he'll have a wonderful career.

Mike Williams' problem was that he came into the league a bit rusty after taking a year off. And much to the dismay of this Lions fan, he couldn't shake the rust out...at least not yet. What he needs is someone to get under his tail and motivate him to be the kind of player he was at USC.
That being said, I think Calvin Johnson will end up more like Marques Colston and become that big body a quarterback can rely on with speed to stretch a defense. But it'd be a safe bet that Johnson will go a LOT sooner in the draft than Colston...

Doubtful. He has a rare combo of speed and size 6-6 230 lbs. with a 4.3 40 time. Williams is big but too slow.Johnson also will not be coming off a year without football like Williams did, Johnson is the real deal.

I knew Johnson had the goods from watching his poise during the season...he never seems to get rattled. I can't believe there is a CB who could cover him with his size, speed and strength...just over throw him and not even Champ Bailey can cover him. At the combine, I saw he will truly be a force...most guys run a 4.4 or faster and lean over and look awkward when they run since they know it's a race for $$, but Johnson ran upright, his arms pumped naturally (not flailed like a lot of guys) and his body was in control...he is just pure speed...I hope he's not a head case because this guy could be great.

Drafting football players is a lot like getting into a relationship, you never know what you're getting till you get it. Sometimes things work out as they are planned and desired, otherwise it's a waste of time and money.
Johnson has the skillset to do well in the NFL, got hands and speed along with great size. But there's no way short of watching him play in the NFL to tell if he has the smarts to play the game and the desire to excel on the next level.

I think Calvin Johnson will be an Anquan Boldin type of player. Very productive, very quiet, and will get very little exposure if he ends up in some place like Detroit or Cleveland (Boldin unfortunately got drafted by the Cardinals). To be a Jerry Rice type of star, he needs to be on a big market team because he is a very laid back and quiet guy.

NO WAY!!!!!!
They are both big, but Johnson is much more athletic. Williams was overweight and out of shape. Johnson is is great shape. Who knows what Johnson would have done with a half decent quarterback last season.

Calvin Johnson definitely has all the physical tools needed. What we'll see is if he has the work ethic and the mental skills needed. Those two things seem to get over looked all to often.

No, He will not. Mike Williams took one year off and went to who the lions...no offense but the lions have Roy Williams they didnt need to have another high level wr.
The best wr combo is reggie wayne and marvin. they both know why they get the coverage they get. Reggie is open because marvin gets the respect.

I think he is to talented to end up like Mike Williams. He has everything you need in a Wr with speed, size, athleticism, and great hands. I think he could end up as one of the top receivers ever!
