I am 38 weeks pregnant and I went walking a lot today. I have had some contractions but they went away. What can I do to help them stay and get stronger? My son was born 13 days early and tomorrow will be 13 days early this time. I know they are all different but I cant help but hope to get lucky.

If you are desperate to go into labor, there are a few things you could try. Have sex with your husband, that could start the contractions.

You could take castor oil. I warn you though, as my wife can testify, it is a painful experience and you will spend a lot of time in the bathroom.

Keep walking. Doing some light walking could start it, but you might be looking at walking a couple of consecutive hours a day.

Relax and rest and get some sleep, you will need it soon enough. And drink plenty of water.

The other options are induction, but I doubt any ethical doctor would induce you unless there were a very good and medically necessary reason.

None of these or any other things could work and really your baby will come when ready.

i tried everything in the book to get my second one out early,... but he ended up 11 days late!!! walk walk walk and have sex, cause the sperm is supposed to attack and so help your waters to break. Didn't work for me... but i know a lot of mothers that swear it worked for them... Laxatives,... they might give you a push, but also diarrhea... good luck
