Of course deaf people can drive. Every deaf person I know drives.

And they are better drivers than most hearing because they are more aware of their surroundings and more observant.

How many hearing people with their ipods, cell phones, and blasting stereos even hear sirens anyway? That's why you have rear view mirrors.

Deaf people can also get pilots licenses, there is an entire section of FAA rules for deaf pilots; but that's a different question.

i know of 4 people that re deaf and mute and they drive only 1 is safe he will ride a bike cuz it scares him cuz he can not hear in case of sirens but i do not think dmv even checks this ya know should be illegal though very scarry huh?

They can in the United States, but not all countries allow them to get behind the wheel...even if they have a valid license from the US.

i don't see why not.. i know the deaf can.. but deaf and mute, not 100% sure,

Yes they are , although it sucks for them because they can't yell profanities to those that cut them off :-)
