Honestly, address the issue WITH your counselor.
Since I don't know the reason you are in therapy, I don't think it's wise to advise you otherise.
From a therapist's point of view...This is exactly the type of thing that should be brought up in a therapy session! Unfortunately, patients are sometimes afraid to do so.
Don't feel guilty or ashamed, you will not hurt his/her feelings, instead may be a pathway to other underlying issues OR a sign of progress.
Again, this is something you should SURELY speak to your therapist about. Trust me, this is actually pretty common.

Go to the library, and check out some self-help books for the problems you have. There are all sorts of books available on all types of problems.

Perhaps you should request a change of counselors--it may be that your particular counselor is making you feel dependent on him/her.

Follow your counselor's recommendations on how to go about doing your tasks for the day--or read about how in the self-help books.

Talk to others--friends, relatives, etc.

Be better, and next time you see your counselor let him/her know about this dependency--it is not healthy.

1) Get yourself a group of friends that you can trust and talk to.
2) Join a charitable organization or help out at a food shelter or some other organization like that, church or something - by helping others you won't have time to need a counsellor.
3) Pick up a copy of The Power of Positive Thinking by Dr. Vincent Peale - it will change your life.
4) Occupy your time with activities that you like.

I hope that some or at least one of these help you and good luck.

Poor you. You shouldn't have a counselor in the first place.
