I even remember the little tiger tails you could buy that would hang out of your tank.

Note the difference between those who say "Exxon" and those who remember "Esso."
In some states, the gas stations themselves were "Humble" or "Enco" until the early '70s, when they and the "Esso" stations all changed over to "Exxon."
And you could buy gasoline for 29 cents a gallon.
THAT feels like ancient history. (lol)

I do yes, Esso had the punchline of 'put a tiger in your tank', jeez are we showing our age or what, I am sure it was the mid sixties, now I do feel old.

I not only remember it, but i think somewhere in my storage unit i still have the tiger tail antenna tie on.
