Well, they're amazonian. They do belong in the "tropical" category, because their temperature range is between 75-78F - but because they come from areas where the water moves fairly quickly, they can tolerate temperatures in the low 70s.

Did you get one? If you don't know, raphaels bark, so if you hear a splash and a scream / bark coming from your tank at night, it's him!

They are considered tropicals, however, as their temperature range is around 68-79 degrees F, if the water were monitored, they could be kept with coldwater fish. Just watch that the raphael doesn't try to eat the fish as these critters can grow to 6 inches!

Yes, Tropical freshwater, semiaggressive. They are really nocturnal, so give good hiding spots, and don't put them in a small tank (they get like 5-8 inches) or with small fish (they may eat them). Keep 'em at 75-80 degrees F any more or less and they may get sick.
