OpenOffice is a clone of Microsoft Office. It is a free productivity suite with a word processor, database, spreadsheet and presentation tool which work very much like Microsoft Office's Word, Access, Spreadsheet and Powerpoint. OpenOffice for the most part can read, write and edit Microsoft Office's documents. For example, you can create a document in Microsoft Word and OpenOffice can open it and save any changes to it. Another example, OpenOffice can open and edit Powerpoint files as well. It is open source, which means the programs code is available to everyone.
