yeah tom gordon is going to have a good season. Good trade. Rickie Weeks will have an above average i think. So i think you had a good trade.

I'll have to go with Baseball Junkie on this one. Although a trade for a good closer when you had Weeks waiting might have worked out. Cano is probably the second best player in the most shallow position in fantasy. Cano gives you a huge advantage over most teams at 2B. Flash Gordon may fill a need but closers are a very volatile position and can change quickley, ie.. Turnbow owners last year enjoyed having a closer as one of the top vote getters for the All Star team and finished the year as one of the most dropped players in fantasy. The scramble for a mediocre closer will go on all year and some of the back ups may actually be more consistent than Gordon.
You should get more for Cano, maybe Wagner or Hoffman straight up if you are desparate. Or Gordon and another player that will be an instant upgrade at another position.
Because of the unsettled nature of the position, I usually won't trade for closers until after the season starts. You could end up with a guy who loses his position and then not have a good 2B either. Closers only help with 1 stat - SV's, if you want them to help with ERA, WHIP then get Zumaya.

That trade was unbelievably dumb. Cano is the second best 2B in the league. Tom Gordon won't have a good year this season and Rickie Weeks will not fill that big gap you just made. I hope you can find a way to fix this. Besides RPs aren't everything you get more out of a daily player then you get out of a player who plays 1-3 times a week. Also, Fuentes is a decent RP too.

No - Cano has a much higher value than Tom Gordon. Moving Cano if Weeks is available on FA was a good decision, but getting only Tom Gordon in return wasn't a good move. Cano could have brought you a better closer than Gordon and/or a better overall player.
Keep in mind that Gordon's 2nd half numbers were pretty rough last year and he's not getting any younger.

i really dont like this trade. cano is a great prospect. hes gonna go 20 HR with .300 AVG and hes in that yankee lineup. he has huge upside. tom gordon is old. the phillies might replace him if he screws up. risky. might wanna pick up someone like octavio dotel or the ranger's set-up man whos right behing eric gagne. picking up rickie weeks would be smart (im surprised he didnt get drafted). he'd give you SB; you wont get that from Cano. But either way, its a bad trade

I think you mean Cano. That is very very very bad. Your giveing up the 2nd best to 3rd best 2ber (which is very slim) for a middle closer. You should be able to on FA list pick up one of these 4 closers or pick up a closer in the wings.
Closers-Torress, McClung, Dotel, Tankersley
Closers in the Wings-Zumaya,B. Walker
