I called today to set up an interview with a college I have applied to, they said that they do not do private interviews but they have group interviews. How do those work? I went online and registered for the campus visit and group interview, but will an admissions worker even be at the interview?

I have no idea, but I would assume group interviews for college admissions would work the same way job group interviews are.
