Don't just stay in your hotel, tempting as that will probably be, as they are all so wonderful. Get out and about. Take a trip across the Creek on an Abra or water taxi for the real flavour of Dubai. Explore the souks. Go to the Gold Souk and marvel. Take a trip into the dessert on one of their organised excursions. Go to Wild Wadi for a day of fun at a fantastic water park. Visit mall of the Emirates for an amazing mall with everything under the sun.
Drink LOADS of water, and wear a hat. Use lots of suncream. And don't wear shorts in the city.
