It's okay to be called the next someone, but when you copy their every move, that is when you become a WEIRDO. MJ was called the next Dr. J but you didn't see MJ copying everything the Doc did. The thing is this…Kobe is cursed by MJ. If MJ never existed there would never be anyone saying “why is Kobe a MJ Copycat?” MJ has done things to amaze us all. He incorporated grace, athleticism, and spectacular airborne moves into his game…..Every time Kobe does something that is amazing we all say “Why is he trying to be like mike?” The fact is that if MJ never existed we might all give Kobe a little more credit.

Kobe is also one of those athletes that can’t win. People either love him or hate him. If he scores 50 points and the Lake Show loses he is a ball hog, and needs to get others involved. If he scores 20 and the Lake show looses, he should have shot more……Damn, this young man can’t seem to win…..It’s a shame…

Not really. Kobe plays different, he shoots way more jump shots and fade aways. If anything Dwayne Wade is a Micheal Jordon copycat. Dwayne Wade doesn't shoot 3s unless necessary, has good FG percentage despite being a Guard and is already winning championships. The only similarity is that Jordon was the best player in the league at his prime and Kobe is the best player now that he is at his prime.

kobe is the closest thing that i've seen to another jordan. he couldnt just as high or have the big paws for hands but other than that the game and interview mannerisms are strikingly similar.

the big difference is mj is respected and beloved worldwide. while kobe is respected...people in his home country cant stand the guy.

i'd say 20-30 years after kb's retired i think people will really see what they missed and will finally get his just due.

Well I must admit that Kobe is inspired by Jordan. Lot of similar moves. But Kobe has a little extra and yes he is better than Mike J. He has the 3 point shot and the ability to push 100 points. He does not get the calls that mike got and he is still giving it to you. Hey it is not easy to copy mikes moves. Mike copied them to. It takes a special player.

If you are a shooting guard what better player is there to pattern your game after, many guys wish they could emulate Jordan, Kobe has the skills to actually do it. But sorry Roland J Kobe is not better than Jordan. His royal airness had many, many nights in which he had 45-50 points in the 3rd quarter and sat the rest of the way, I don't know how old you are but do some research. If Jordan had Shaq he would have won as many titles as Bill Russell.
