My sister once got my mother a year's supply of her favourite underarm deoderant. After the initial surprise, she loved it. The best thing I ever got my Mam was a carriage clock, she loved it then and twenty years later, it's still going strong on the top of my television.
The best gift you can give your mother is your appreciation for all she's been and done for you over the course of your life. I won't be giving my Mam anything this year, the same as last year ... she passed away ten years ago when I was 30, after 15 years of extreme ill-health.
I had a double whammy on my first Mothers Day without her, it just so happened to fall on her birthday. The best answer to this question is to simply say "Thank you, Mum."

Even though I am a florist it is an easy cop out if she is not keen on flowers. Think what does she really like? Or take her somewhere she would love to go - Out for a meal, To the cinema or just a daytrip somewhere. You could if you live at home even prepair her favourite breakfast, tell her she is the best Mum in the world and you will love her forever.
I would do this IF my Mum was still alive. .. and hoping my teenage son will but fat chance...

Well, I live 200 miles away from my mum, so as a surprise, I'm going to let myself into her house (I have a key), cook her breakfast in bed with a bunch of flowers - let her spend all day with her grand daughter who she misses horribly(she's 1) and tell her in a very serious voice just how much I love her and appreciate how much she's done for me. This may not all work out (It depends on my husbands work)
No matter what - I'll tell her I love her and how much I appreciate what she's done for me. I think that's the best gift you can give any mum!

I'm gonna get my mom a stock certificate. I thought is was an interesting cheap gift. Besides it will last a long time, and she can frame it so she can see it everyday. And who knows maybe in the future she will be a millionaire with it! lol wishful thinking.
But if you are young and don't have much money, give her a nice day off, clean the bathroom, do the dishes, help cook dinner, get her flowers and write her a nice card...she will love it! mothers always do.

Breakfast in bed, take her out to lunch if you can, if not make it, while she lounges or takes a walk up the local with Dad or someone nice. A bunch of flowers with the nicest card you can find, with lovely words, and add yours to it, invite all the family to high tea, and let her know how much she is thought of, and how much you appreciate what she has done over the years. Money cannot buy what you can give her - your time.

Ive been blessed with a fantastic mom!!! she means the world to me ive overcome many obstacles in my life with thanks to my moms support,i spend hours searching for the right card,i then write a poem or letter telling her how fab she is and i love her.Im 30 and to know i could go to her and cry in her arms like i did when i was younger is a warm feeling. We all need a cuddle of our moms now and then regardless how old we are i think. As for a present i usually buy her something she needs/wants at the time e.g dvd,new kettle, shoes, haircut, new bedding etc but its the card i think more of.My children always make me handmade and i will treasure them forever!!!!!!!

Hi, last mothers day i made my mum a photo albumn - i bought a nice albumn and decorated the insed pages myself with glitter, doodles, handprints, threads, candle wax! I did pages starting with me as a baby then as i grew up and then the same for my brothers and sisters - also pics of us togetehr and then family pitures! We also did a page each which we wrote oursleves of why we love our mum and the funny things that we all remember from when we were younger! My mum loved it and she looks at it every now and again and it brings a tear to her eye!
It takes a bit of time but i just did a few pages every evening! Its fun to do to! I also did one for my grandads 70th which took alot more time as i had to do his 5 children then thier children then thier children if you get my drift! Good luck

I always think the best thing on mothers day is to spend more time with them, take them out, even if its just a walk on the beach, break the routine and spoil them.
