People has different point of view regarding on what is really the meaning of life. The meaning of life to me is to serve God and follow His will. I have faith that solely base on the bible so as a basis I will quote some verses coming from the bible.
Long time ago a wise man said this “Ecclesiastes 1:2 -14 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.
What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?
One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.
The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.
The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.
All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.
I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.
And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.
I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. “
If we will read the entire book of Ecclesiastes we will see that Solomon searching for “what is the purpose” or ”the meaning of life”. He do everything what his heart desire/wants but in the end he got one conclusion for what is the meaning or purpose of life: And he wrote “Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
And I believe in what Solomon’s believe in.

The purpose of life is (1) for you to discover your gifts and (2) for you to apply these gifts toward the promotion of the greater good of humankind.
You may feel that you don't know what your gifts are. You are not likely to discover them without "getting out there" and trying/doing many things (jobs, projects, whatever). So get out there. Meet people. Help people. Learn about yourself in the process.
It may take years, even decades. Along the way, you will have helped many people, more than you know. If you do discover your gifts, the better you'll be able to focus your energy in those activities that maximize the use of these gifts.
You *don't* know that you'll go over the same things again and again. Maybe you're doing the same things, in the same places, with the same people. Find new things, in new places, with new people. There's more in this world than you can imagine.
Good luck.
Best wishes.

I am not to totally sure- after all im only a teen, but i guess if you look at it this was life is important. this quote from the tv show Six Feet Under made me think
"Why do people have to die?" "To make life more important"
That is what i think it said or "to make life worth living" and I thought once you are dead there really is no going back and "shoulda woulda couldas" anymore. while you are alive you can try new things, fix the things you have broken, and cherish the things that you love because when you die there is no guarantee of what will happen.
Learn from yesterday, live for today, and hope for tomorrow.

Honey, not to slam you, but can you see that 3 other people have asked that exact same thing within the past few hours? In fact you can probably see it right now somewhere under your question.
There is no meaning or point. All humans will be dead one day and everything we have accomplished will mean nothing. So enjoy the freedom you have to be absolutely anything you want to be until you die.
Do you want to scuba dive? Sky dive? Visit Asia? Ask out the hottest person you know? Then do it. There is no reason at all for you not to do so because there is no fate or destiny for you, make it yourself.

There can be no exact meaning of life that would/could cover every peoples in the universe. This is a life-long question and if there was an answer it would have been written in a book for students to study and memorize...but, alas....it does not exist..
Maybe you should ask the purpose of YOUR life...that would be one that you and only you can answer.

To fellowship with your Creator.
Fellowship was lost due to sin. The sin issue could not be dealt with by good works, traditions, or rituals. The wages of sin is death. A loophole was created by God that a substitute death could be used, hence the Levitical system of sacrifice, a picture of what was to come. God came down in the form of man, to live, and die in our place to re-establish our lost fellowship. This event tore the veil in the Temple to announce that the wall of separation between man and God was over. All we need do is come to Christ for the cleansing of sins and obtain the once-lost fellowship.
Why are we here? - For God to obtain a people, who by free will choice, choose Him without seeing Him. Who trust in Him when all the world trusts themselves.

You have to take your life in hand and make your own meaning. Nothing in this world has inherent meaning. What is the meaning of a chair unless there is someone who uses it to sit on? Things only have meaning when they are given meaning.
Find out what you love to do, and do it. Find the people who are good to you, and love them. Discover the causes you are passionate about, and fight for them. That's meaning.

As muslims, life is an opportunity to worship god and thank him for everything he gave us. Although life itself is not enough to do that but we try to do our best, worshiping god is not just praying, god told us to do a lot of things, like to be honest in your job, to learn, etc... all this increases our faith in god, gives us hope in life and pushes us forward to succeed in it. At the end it's either heaven or hell. Life is a test..

Life is not simple the act of breathing in and out, or the number of heartbeats. It is the fulfillment of the spirit. Whether we choose to live, or not to live, is up to each of us. Life is the pursuit of what we are, and what we dare to be.
