I am a resposible14 year old girl ,go to a private school, in year 10, right on course for an A in most of my GCSEs BUT.....
i need money, my parents can only just afford the school fees, bills, and food, and have no money to spare for pocket money. my mum does not work, my dad is retired and we live on his pension, and im a normal teenage girl in need of money. i am not allowed a paper round, makeup seller (basically nothing that goes door to door) i don't know enough people to do babysitting and i think going round asking for jobs like cleaning is just rude. my mum said she'd be ok with me being a cashier or shelf stocker at a supermarket or shop. I have looked online at lots of job sites but they're all for older people, and not the type i need. i can ONLY work on sundays because i have drama on saturday. my mum's ok with me working in oldham or uppermill because they're not far away, any ideas (i don't care if i don't earn much, anythings better than now)
thanks loads :)

well, depending on wherever you live, you might now be old enough for a job. in my state you would be old enough, but not in some. i dont think there would be many jobs you can do only on sundays, so you might want to reconsider babysitting.

Are you in England? I only ask because child labor laws vary everywhere. In the US a 14 year old can get working papers and get a job. I would just go to the stores you would be interested in and fill out an application. restaurants often hire kids your age as bussers as well. I worked at a pharmacy store when I was 14, as well as at a public library.

I make about on average twenty dollars an hour going door to door painting peoples address numbers on curbs and driveways .I make much more part time doing this then some minimum wage job where i would work all day.you as a little girl would want to have a friend with you for safety.also you could put out flyers saying you will paint them, look under curbs numbers .on the net for information on this.
God Luck on whatever you do

what a sweetie you are, but i hate to tell you that non of the supermarkets take on under 16s, except possibly netto.i know this because my son is 15 and tried to get a job but couldnt. you will be better off going to your local market, early in the morning when they are setting up stall, or to a small local shop, go when they are quite busy as thats when they are more likely to need help. good luck!

many places will not take you until the age of 16 because of the employment laws applicable to youngsters, check it out with someone at your school, ask a teacher or counsellor there. Why are you not allowed a paperround? This is possibly the only job open to you at 14

There are some companies that will allow you to work part/time, you have to check in your area.
Also some corporations will allow you to job shadow if your currently seeking an education and ultimatly a career in their industry, however job shadowing is volunteer.
