I would consider talking tro a nutritionist and then a fitness
trainer to work out a schedule and a gym plan that best suits the areas you need to work on. You kinda sound like myself minus the Army aspect remember this as well muscle weighs more then fat so even though you are working out and not noticing a greta deal of weight drop you are replacing fat with lean muscle mass. I hope you reach your goal first off lower carb intake, no pop, no sweets, no fast food, no coffee I say no coffee because you may have a caffiene overload if you are taking supplements since alot of them like zantrex 3 is loaded with caffeine and other natural forms of caffiene like Guarana consider Hydroxycut and Xynedrine EFX they are thermogynic supplements.

You don't give your height, so it's difficult to know just how obese you are. You must consult with a doctor before starting a diet/exercise program, since you will need to avoid complications at your weight.
Diet is the same for everyone - you have to eat fewer calories than you burn.
A pound of fat contains 3500 calories. An average man (and at the moment, that isn't you) uses around 2000 to 2500 calories a day, so if he eats that many, he'll stay the same weight. If he reduces to 1500 calories a day, then he'll burn about 3500 calories more than he takes in every week, and will lose one pound of fat - the fat is burned to make up for the lack of food calories.
The safe weight loss goal for the average person is 2 to 3 pounds a week. Work out your total need for the week, subtract the calories fo rthe pounds of fat you want to burn, and then you can figure out what to eat each day.

Ive never been a fan of taking any type of supplements because once you stop you will gain MORE weight. I would recommend that you do The Atkins diet, I tried it before when I wanted to enlist onto the airforce, I lost about 25lbs in a month. Then I changed my mind on joining and gained it all back. The thing about diets is that its a commitment for lifetime. Doesnt that suck? I mean could you live with out hamburger buns forever? What I am doing now is reading this book that just came out a couple of months ago. Its called "You on a diet" its actually really good. I dont want to diet anymore I want to learn how to eat right. I would recommend that you Buy the Atkins book so you can loose weight before you enlist. You will also have to excercise. Then I recommend that you buy "you on a diet book" so you can maintain the weight off. You can only do it for so long. Well best of luck.
PS my little brother lost about 75lbs on the atkins within 2-3months and has kept it off for about 2 years. He does low carb eating and mini atkins diets week on week off.

Follow a good basic diet of less meat and more fruits and vegetables. Drink lots of water.Give up sweets and breads. Cut out the junk food and soda pop. Diet drinks are OK. I would start out walking. I think walking is the easiest, best all around exercise you can do. Try eating 5 small meals a day instead of 3 large ones.

You need to lose weight smart or you get into that yo-yo phase of fat-thin-fat-thin.
To do this smart, it will take about six to seven months.
Reduce caloric intake by 500 calories a day. Drop all junk foods and sodas. Increase your intake of water and raw vegetables. get yourself an exercise program of at least 30 minutes a day five days a week and stay focused on the goal

Hmmm... I didn't lose 70 pounds but I did lose about 50 over a year.
It isn't as hard as it sounds. I just cut out unnecessary junk food (like soda and other junk) and didn't eat unnecessary double foods (like no two hamburgers and such).
In addition, and probably most important, I went running/jogging each weekend morning for about an hour. With your headphones and music time flies; I actually found that relaxing.

Forget the pills, what do you think the army will be like? You got to be conditioned to work-out, run ect. Why do people want the easy way always?
