I have been accepted to several law schools for the coming fall term, and I am having a hard time deciding between the final two. On one hand, the University of Georgia is higher ranked, close to Atlanta, and located in a true college town. On the other, Florida State University is located in state capitol with numerous internship opportunities, and is closer to my wife's family. If anyone has any advice, I am all ears.

As a Georgia native and UGA alumnus, of course I am going to say UGA. But, UGA Law is a highly ranked school. Also, I can tell you that there are tons of internship opportunities in the Athens and surrounding areas. I have a good friend who is about to graduate from UGA Law and she has had at least 5 internship offers from private law firms and counties. Also, my dad graduated from UGA Law and eventually became the DA for Clayton County, Georgia.

I lived in Athens for 4 years during college and then about 20 miles from Athens after I graduated and got married. Athens has the "college town" rep, but trust me, there is a lot more to offer than just the campus. Also, the cost of living in Athens is very, very reasonable. Apartments run about $300 - $400 a month. I don't know if you would be interested, but the housing market is also incredible in the area.

I'm sure that you have done plenty of research on what school to go to. I think it really comes down to where you want to be. Just remember that you can learn just as much outside the classroom as you can in it.

Where do you want to go? Do you want to be closer to your wife's family? How close are they?

Ok, say you have a state capitol. Are you interested in state gov't internships? If not, Atlanta's a big city with numerous internship opportunities as well. Gov't internships should be available as well.

What state do you eventually want to practice in. That's pretty key. Do you want Georgia or do you want Florida? Neither or that high ranked so it's best to go with the one located in the state you want to start off your law career in.

The "true college town" thing isn't that important. You won't have that much time to enjoy it. Both Georgia and Florida State have rabid fans anyways so if the law schools are with the undergrad campus, you can have college type fun at either place.

they both sound very good, the university of Georgia is higher ranked as you say and very well respected (personally i would always go with the one that is higher ranked because of what they have to offer) FSU is very well respected as well its location is very ideal (Florida is a great place for a lot of lawyers lol) nevertheless the difference is clear the university of Georgia is ranked 34Th while FSU is 53rd that s quite a gap, moreover ur chances of employment are not likely to diminish if u were to choose Georgia instead of FSU (The university of Georgia offers some of the best law internships around Atlanta is a quite popular city for lawyers as well) i would go with the higher ranked school but since you are married i think you ought to discuss it with your wife good luck (i am preparing for the LSAT how i wish i was in ur shoes Lol) good luck
p.s you also have to consider which aspect of the law you will be focusing on that's important.
