I saw that movie when I was 5 and I was totally terrified. I'm over it now because I can barely remember it...actually I don't remember any scene at all. But I do know that I've seen it.

You'll get over it....hopefully.

I watched that movie for the first time ever last week. It wasn't all that scary (to me), but I am 21, so I didn't watch it when I was younger like everyone else seemed to. The only thing that was scary was his razor sharp teeth. If anything, his normal, taunting appearances were more comical then anything else.

I am sure, though, that had I watched IT a few years ago when I was younger, I might have been more terrified of the clown.

P.S. The other problem I had with the movie was that side A and side B on the DVD were not marked, so I unintentionally started with the last half of the movie. I think that was the other problem I had with not being scared of it.

Omigod...that is one freaky movie! My best friend and I experienced something very strange on Valentine's day when we were about 12-13. We were walking around our neighborhood late at night and suddenly maybe 10 red balloons blew down the street followed (or maybe following) a VW beetle car that had a clown driving!! We were freaked out for...well until now actually, that was freaky stuff!

Course...could have been a V-day thing, but seeing how we had recently seen "IT"...it just doesn't matter.

Scary...super scary....eeeeep.

I was always terrified by clowns as a child. I would run and scream in terror. I was 38 when I seen the movie IT. It did a number on my head; I couldn't sleep without clown dreams for awhile, but it did hit my childhood fear. I normally never get freaked out by horror flicks tho.

rodeo clowns dont have a dying choose, they're there to soak up time in the time of slack time in rodeos and to make people snigger at them and particularly a number of the time they're the 1st ones up the inventory panels. the bullfighters (cowboy secure practices) are those in front of the chutes and are utilising much less "conflict paint" at the instant to boot because of the fact the barrelmen considering the fact it particularly is a discomfort interior the butt to get off after a rodeo. EDIT: TUT, that bull replaced into in simple terms finding for a hankie to pass.

You can sort of take the edge off by reading the book (it's Stephen King's best, a masterpiece). Yes, it's horror. But, at the end, you realize they've been fighting:

A psychic giant spider from outer space who dresses like a clown.

Sounds like a "B" movie concept now, doesn't it?

Are you aware of what wonderful actor played Penniwise? That was Tim Curry, who also played Frank N. Furter in the wonderful Rocky Horror Picture Show. He is an excellent character actor. He even scared me a bit.

I had nightmares for half a year after I watched that movie.
I could barely stand taking a shower, and I always closed my bathroom door. I was VERY wary of water.
And I will never ever live in a town if it has the same name as the one he was in.
Oh, and I'm still afraid of sewage lines and marshes.

I read the book and I saw the movie . Trust me in the clown "IT " in the movie is pretty tame compared to the "IT" in the book. I could not sleep the night I read that freaky book :)
