Both are good, but I'd rather live on my own terms. Contributing to the wellness of society can sometimes present consequences that are bad that you may or may not see until you contribute. For example: You are finishing paperwork at work while waiting for a ride home. Unknowingly, until some things "come down" later, you get trapped in an unpleasant circumstance that leads to false accusations and blame.

If the truth be told, I'd rather live on my own term. I spent a long long time trying to make it in this world, and have done so with no help from anyone, including society as a whole. I'm also a single-mom who has finally reached a goal of being able to provide for them, as well as myself, without having to starve to feed my children. So, definitely it's most important for me to worry about me and my kids rather than the wellness of society. Sorry for the honesty. But it's just my own opinion of course.

contribute to the wellness of society, so more people can function in the society. living on your own terms causes ruin, and loneliness. I know it, and America will too if we don't change our ways.

I think you can and should do both, but if I have to choose, I'd say to contribute. Where would the world be if no one did?

I try to contribute by encouraging people to use their brain and think for themselves, so it serves both purposes
