They are warriors that have sworn an oath to government of the United States of America and its citizenry. That oath does not include the discretion to serve when and where desired. Most, certainly not all, would view the concept of them being "victims" as abhorrent and despicable distortion of their purpose and status.

I consider them Warriors. I also consider them Victims! When we first went into Iraq, they were warriors, they won the war & rid Iraq of Saddam. That was several years ago, asking them to stay in a country that is in a Religious Civil War makes them victims! They are powerless to do anything except to try & protect themselves. They do not belong there & waiting until September 0f 2008 to bring them out is senseless! It just means that more of them will be wounded or killed for no reason.

That depends on your political persuasion. Conservatives say warriors, liberals go with victims

Victims, w/o a doubt. First they were sent into a war that never should have happened because it was based on a bunch of lies. Secondly, when US troops got to Iraq they were not allowed to fight the war the way they were trained to fight a war. Bush's "rules of engagement" made it impossible for US troops to win the war in Iraq because they were fighting with one arm tied behind their backs.

We are Americans.

In my opinion, I understand what i do just as a Firefighter or Police Officer does.

We are far from Victims. We believe in our missions and work diligently to protect the people of Iraq.

It's what we do. Plain and simple.

Why classify them. They are volunteers who wanted to serve their country or at the very least get a free education. I think they are very brave and we should thank them for protecting our freedom. We are very lucky we do have volunteers or the ones who don't want to be there would and then perhaps they would be victims.

Warriors ! Are you sure you want to go there?
As a mother of a Army Officer & US Ranger, my guess is you do not. They are patriots - willing to protect & defend those who can not or will not defend themselves.

Warriors, because they choose to give their lives for others to be free so they can complain about the military.
