who believes that a good spanking works on kids?

i'm not talking about physical abuse here, God forbid, but i believe a well timed, well aimed smack on the butt cures a whole lot of problems in children.

I agree entirely. Supposedly there are better ways, but this is all most people know . The alternative is to let the child be a terror and to be angry at the child and try to make the child feel guilty or like a disappointment. That is more abusive than spanking as far as I am concerned.

Mostly it's guilt slingers who want to tell everybody else they're not allowed to spank their kids. I had a psychiatrist neighbor who subscribed to the never-spank theory and his kids were holy terrors. For example, they put the family cat in the trash compactor and squashed it. Nobody would baby-sit for them more than once.

I agree. To prove that it's effective, visit any house that believes in "time-outs". Look at how disrespectful the kids are today. I spank my children on the butt when they do wrong and they never make that same mistake again. Of course, they only get spanked when they do something that causes someone else harm. Thank you.

I believe in spankings; not beatings which some people seem to get these two confused. I use my hand or a belt and usually one or two swats gets the point across. That is a spanking. A beating on the other hand includes using sticks, extension cords, and things of that nature.

I believe that so-called corporal punishment is a time - honored and well deserved for of discipline. Too many people have shied away from it over the past couple of years.

i think that spankings are a good thing i think that it helps them remember what they did was wrong more thatn just words alone because if i tell you not to do somthing you might remember for a little while but if i swatted your butt i bet you would remember for a whole lot longer
