I agree poor wording, but it's the Green Revolution...of the 70's, this revolution used the science of genetic engineering to develop strains of crops that would be more productive. This increased the world food supply, and many thought science would continue to allow us to make breakthroughs and that human population would never again be limited and was kind of against the ideas of Thomas Malthus (Malthusian thought).
