Wow. Well it depends on how old the baby is. I would start a schedule. Keep her up longer and tire her out. After if she is eating solid foods give her enough to wear she is full. Or if she is on the bottle give her some cereal to let her sleep more. The reason why I say cereal is because it sticks to the tummy

It depends on her age...If she is older than 2 months then u can start putting cereal in her bottle before u lay her down to bed...this will keep her fuller longer. And dont worry about what people might say about NOT putting cereal in her bottle because everyone does it,,and it is safe *my babys doc even reassured me it was* I have to children and one on the way and know that the cereal put my children out like a light and they stayed asleep all night. Try getting her on a schedule....

In the daytime play with her, give her lots of tummy time, take her out etc...When she falls asleep during the day wake her up yourself after about 1 1/2 hours or so...Before putting her to bed at night i would say around 8:30-9 giove her a nice warm bath with her cereal formula bottle... This may help u as it has helped me tons...good luck!

I'm sorry to went through this. But you have to get her to know the difference between night and day by keeping it dem during the night hours, and much lighter in the day time. But all babies are different they really sleep on their time. Try putting 1 to 2 tablespoons of cereal (rice) in her bottle to get her full, and maybe she'll stay sleep. But my baby started sleeping through the night around 3 in a half months of age and she is now 5 months. Good Luck though with whatever comes up.

you need to get a good eat-play-sleep routine. Try to keep her up longer in the later hours of the evening and after she wakes up for her feeding 2-4 hours later feed and then put immediately back to sleep after you change her of course. At 3 weeks you will be up every 2-4 hours at least so you may just have to get used to staying up for a while until her schedule gets established.

Try to establish a routine. Keep her up during the day by playing or doing activities that keep her busy. Then try to get into a routine like singing a certain song or reading a book right before you want her to go to sleep (like at night). It will take some time to get used to a routine but in the end it will be worth it because you and your baby will be happy. Good luck!

the answer IS NOT rice cereal she's only 3 weeks u should only be giving her milk and water, ROUTINE is the answer hehe its hard to stick to but it works! i'll do a rough routine outline so u can either try with these hours or use ur own;
8am- Morning feed, playtime!
11am - feed play
2pm - feed play
5pm- feed play
7.30pm- bathtime- try lavender bath stuff to soothe her!
8pm- feed NO PLAY
2am- feed NO PLAY
6am feed NO PLAY
9am or 10am- feed play
with my son at 3 weeks we were told to feed him every 3 hours during the day and 4 -5 hours at night, becoz ur just starting a routine jus go 4 hours at night then after she's in the hang of it let her sleep til she wakes for a feed, its important to PLAY after every feed during the day so she can understand that 'light' means play and 'dark' means sleep, Do Not cut out her daytime sleeps becoz she will get over tired and wont sleep lol but DO wake her every 3 hours during the day for a feed and then play. Its hard for maybe first few days to a week but it gets easier STICK to the routine thats IMPORTANT, my son now 2months still fed every 3 hours during the day goes to bed round 8-9pm sleeps thru til 3am then has a feed back to bed up at 9am..thanks to routine!!

First of all, DO NOT give her rice cereal. It does not help, and actually could be causing her to wake up. Her system is too little to deal with it.

Second, she probably has her days and nights mixed up. Its common in newborns. Don't do anything that could be stimulating - dont watch TV when she wakes up at night, etc. Give it some time, and it should pass.

the bigger problem is that ur baby dosent know wat is day and wat is night so first things U need to wake ur baby in the day, start it by getting ur baby up 1/2 an hr earlier then usuall , it will be harder but it will pay off , and with that U need to stick with a routine, first make sure ur baby is well fed cereals are very good .. a mashed banana ,will fill ur baby up,then U go ahead with bath or massage story time any music watever Ur baby like more.make sure that there is a 15 min gap between her/him massage and feed.and after that gripe water.

good luck.

go to http://www.www.askdrsears.com
He talks about babies who have restful calm days have restful cam nights. Is she wanting to eat when she wakes up? Maybe you can feed her more offten during the day?
Make sure it is pitch black in the room at night- try sleeping with her if you don't already and just let her nurse back to sleep. I got alot more sleep that way and baby does adjust and regulate in time. just make an environment and sleeping habits conducive for sleeping.

keep her awake more during the day. even if she is asleep move her arms and legs around things like that cause even though she is sleeping doesnt mean she is sleeping very well and when its time for bed she will still be tired.sounds like she has her days and nights mixed up. the more you move her around and try keeping her awake shell be sleepy at night
