Heck no. I could make money with that. Send him along.
My neighbor had a daughter like that, they would have booted her out but they needed the eggs.

your son has some spirit on him, that is amazing. try this,
when you go places with him, carry some feed. (for roosters) call him by his name (red rooster) as much as it bothers you, and throw some feed on the ground, and beckon him to come to you (kind of like a dog). He will see that two can play at that game.
he thinks he is in control, but the farmer is in control of the animal, he won't like that at all. He may get upset, tell him that you are just trying to encourage him. You thought that's what he wanted.
even better, start putting him rooster feed in a little bowl for meals, every meal. tell him that if he wants to be an animal, do it all the way.
Why go half way about anything. don't do it sarcastically, act as if he really is a rooster.
only make enough food for you and your husband/wife, just enough so your son knows that you are serious.
he may really have a problem.
don't threaten to kick him out. Turn his room into a barn if you really wants to be a rooster.
my mom played like that and i thought twice before i did anything.
it sounds awful or mean but he will learn that you love him the same always,
take pictures of him posing like a rooster, or catch him on video and start putting the pictures up for display in your home. (you can always take them down later) he will see how silly he looks, and will most likely stop.

If your child seriously believes he's a rooster, you should probably seek medical advice. Remember that he's a teenager and teenagers do strange things. Sounds to me like he's TRYING to be weird to freak people out. A lot of people get off on that. Could be looking for some attention or maybe the kid's on drugs. Either way I don't think throwing him out is the solution. You had this child, he is your responsibility. Throwing him out makes him the rest of societys problem and the rest of society won't love him as his family does. He's better off at home. Talk to him and lay down the law. Tell him how he is expected to behave while living in your home.

You should NEVER, under ANY circumstance, abandon your child. Keep in mind that he won't be 17 forever. It's unlikely that he will still act like a human rooster when he's 40. But he will always be your son.

Have you ever thought that your son MAY be doing this to get your attention or the attention of his peers? It may be due to the fact he believes that he does have a diminished intellect or he may be just trying to see how far he can push you. Put your foot down, if needed in the middle of his butt. He needs to realize that regardless of his so-called need to express himself that while he is in your house he WILL follow your rules. 7 or 17 no child is too old for a good old fashioned spanking if need be. You are the father (or mother) and it is your responsibility to get this child ready for society.

Try forgiveness and love. The more you make an issue out of his behavior the more he will get into it. All teenagers do weird things, but non of them are excuses for expulsion from the household---that will cure nothing, but will drive him deeper into the pit that he has jumped into. Try prayer and ask for God's help. God pulled me out of a very deep and a very dark pit several years ago---if I told you the kind of a person that I used to be before being saved, it would make your son appear as a saint. You can do nothing on your own, so stop trying. Hand it over to Jesus, for he can do all things that we cannot do. God bless you and your son. Jesus loves both of you.

A parents love is supposed to be unconditional. He may have other problems that need to be addressed. Try family counseling. Sounds like he is looking for attention. Throwing him out is not going to solve anything and will only show him that you do not care.

I was out of controll as a teen. My mom contacted a judge who kindly showed me the inside of a Texas Prison. He then made me stay a month in a Texas youth prison. I have not even raised my voice since.

I'd start offering him chicken feed for breakfast if he is going to act like that!
Honestly though, I wouldnt chuck him out. Is it harming anyone? I'd be more interested in finding out what the "limited ability" comment is about. It sounds like he may have a confidence issue and this is his way of giving himself confidence.

Sounds like he's really trying to get some attention. Kicking him out will only make him resent you and you could lose him forever. Try talking to him, let him know you care. Love is the answer. Cheezy, but true.
